The nomination process is underway for Florida Super Lawyers 2022. Visit https://my.superlawyers.com to get started. If you are new to Super Lawyers, requesting online access and completing your attorney profile is the first step. Each year, the selection process becomes more competitive, so make sure your Super Lawyers profile is looking its best.  Include recent verdicts and settlements, practice areas and industries served, professional associations and memberships, community service involvement, special licenses and certifications and any other awards you have obtained.

Nominations are the next step in the process. The nomination period is September 21, 2020 – September 28, 2021. To be eligible to make nominations, an attorney must be licensed and practicing in the State of Florida.

Each nomination carries a point value. Nominations received from lawyers in other firms carry a significantly higher point value than nominations received from lawyers in the same firm.

-No self-nominations.

-In-firm nominations are counted only if an equal or greater number of lawyers outside your firm are nominated.

-You may nominate a maximum of 21 lawyers (this means you are limited to seven in-firm nominations, seven out-firm nominations and seven Rising Stars nominations).

-No “campaigning” or soliciting nominations from other lawyers as such nominations may be disregarded and lead to disqualification.

-Base your nominations on first-hand knowledge, rather than reputation-e.g., opposing counsel, co-counsel, or someone you have observed in court or during a transaction.

If you were listed in Florida Super Lawyers last year, make sure and update your profile and submit your nominations, as the process starts over each year. Super Lawyers uses a patented multi-phase selection process, including nominations, independent research, and peer evaluations.
